The long term effect of scans with dye and radio active ingredients

Hi there

i was diagnosed with stage 3b melanoma in 2021. 
I have had 2 recurrences since and they are wanting to do my scans 3 monthly now instead of 6 monthly. I’m really concerned about the impact these have on my body including cancer. Does anyone have any advice.

  • Had scans from 2016 to 2021 and then again from 2023 ongoing so had plenty of radioactivity on my body.. but its better to have a picture of what's going on that not. I'm stage 4 and 3 years later still going, keep positive and focus only on the positives!
