I have now discovered by reading the bottom line on a letter from an Oncology Doctor my last ct scan showed Incidental Cholelithiasis, he didn't mention this 3 weeks before during the phone consultation only on the letter confirming the consultation.
Of course I googled it and discovered it means I have Gallstones, now I suppose its up to me to try self help in how to manage my diet, I had been to a GP in March complaining of several of the symptoms.I have had several scans now and never noticed this before so maybe it had come about after 14 treatments of the Pembro. Just wondered if anyone else has had Gallstones whilst on treatment.
I had one year on Pembro and subsequently an abdominal ultrasound (unrelated to cancer treatment) showed gallstones. Oncology has made no comment about it and I have PET rather than CT scan for that area. As it causes no problems I've never pursued the matter.
I did notice that Pembro may rarely cause Cholangiopathy which apparently has symptoms which mimic gallstones. I hope you are sorted soon about this.️
Hi Daisy07
Gallstones are a very common incidental finding in scans for various other things, and it’s astonishing how many of us have them!
I can’t blame treatment for mine as they were found in my very first scan to identify my cancer. I didn’t require any action to be taken at that point as dealing with the cancer was deemed to be more important, but when they caused issues and blocked my bile duct I needed to have surgery. My partner also had gallstones spotted in a scan for something else, and is currently waiting for a decision on any action to be taken. The consultant said that most of the people in his clinic would have them
