Hi there, we have critical insurance cover on our life insurance and having checked the policy following discussion with a local charity whilst fundraising they advised that I checked my policy. The diagnosis was 1A malignant melanoma superficial type 0.7mm breslow depth, T stage pt1a which was excised November last year followed by a WE in Jan 2023, which we were thankfully given the all clear! What a relief.
In terms of the policy it refers to "the growth invaded beyond the epidermis" how do you work this out using the diagnosis above? Thanks
From my experience (stage 1b non ulcerated melanoma) it met the criteria “invaded beyond the epidermis” and sounds like yours should too. You could call the claims department but they will probably advise you to submit a claim form. Good luck!
Can you claim even though you’re all clear? Our policy didn’t cover it at the time but I might re check it x
