Hi, just feeling anxious as after having a mole removed 3 weeks ago at a clinic and was told there it was Melanoma. They said I would hear from hospital in 2 weeks by letter or phone call to confirm this. I have tried to contact dermatology dept at the hospital but just get an answering machine. I have left a couple of messages but no reply. Also contacted my Drs who have told me to just keep trying. Has anyone else been in this situation? I’m sure I’m in the system but feel like life is on hold at the moment.

Two weeks sounds very quick. When my mole was removed at dermatology clinic I was told there wound be a four week wait for it to be checked. Hospital contacted me within the four weeks. Try not to worry, easier said than done I know!

Thanks for the reassurance. Yes the waiting is horrendous. Wish they had said results will be after 4 weeks then wouldn’t be feeling so anxious, or if they had given a contact number of someone.

Following on from this message, just had a call to see a consultant on Friday to discuss results. Feel relieved things are moving on.
