I had my WLE and SLNB 7 weeks ago. One lymph node was negative and the other one went missing in transit therefore I’m having a ct next week.
the worry I have now is I finally got all my feeling back in my left boob ( lymph nodes were taken from that armpit) about 2 weeks ago but for the last week that nipple has become very itchy. Should I be worried? I’m definitely on edge as I’m having another mole removed next week also. Any words of wisdom please. Thanks
Poor you, it is such a worrying time right now. Was your mole on your left arm or chest? I can't see how an itchy nipple is connected hon unless it's the site of the mole and under a dressing still. Have you recently changed washing liquid or soap? a new bra? If you've been getting any hot sweats then maybe you got a little area of candida (thrush) which is easily treated. Any discharge at all? I would contact your GP/nurse practitioner in the first instance for some advice. Take care, keep us informed x
Hi Calsmam,
That is awful that one of your lymph nodes went missing- how stressful. I had a WLE and SLNB back in Dec 2018 and I remember really itching as I began to get feeling back. It wasn’t on my nipple but it was all along the side of my boob. I was told it was nerves mending. If worried though it is always best to get it checked out.
I am currently awaiting result to a suspected recurrence and now that worry can take control of you. Finding ways to take your mind off things - is easier said than done.
Where was your first mole removed from and where is the new one?
I do hope you feel better soon.
Hi & Thanks for your reply. My mole was on my left upper back, there’s no discharge and I don’t change soap etc as my skin is very sensitive. Hopefully it will clear up soon
Hi Eadie thanks for your reply. Yes I’m hoping it’s just nerves mending I’ll try to get through to my SCNS today. My first mole was on my left upper back & the second mole is on my bum, can’t say I’m looking forward to that one being removed .
Good luck with your results it must be an awful worrying time for you & like you say try to keep busy. I’m back to work today so that’s a good thing.
Take care
Hi Calsmam,
I had my WLE and SLNB 12 weeks ago and had some itching and pain from 6 weeks onwards. Even now, I have some sharp pain at times in the WLE area for few seconds. I was told its normal and if it persists for hours rather than minutes to give the dermatology a call.
Hope this helps.
Hi Elmyra yes that’s a great help, put my mind to rest thank you
Hi Calsmam,
How are you doing? Are things settling a bit now?
X
Hi Anne 1536 Thank you for getting in touch. My nipple & the area around is still itchy but not as bad. I found it impossible to speak to someone about it & still waiting for someone to get back to me. I have a full body ct scan on Saturday but I’m positive there’s no spread. I also have another mole removal tomorrow so it’s all go
Hi Calsmam,
So sorry you weren't able to share your worries with someone. It just adds to the stress you don't need at this time. The forum is a comfort, strangers we will never meet reaching out with shared experiences to try and help.
Good luck with the body scan and I will think of you tomorrow with the mole removal.
Take care xx
