Back in March I think I was lucky and got booked in a week after first being seen in the dermatology dept for the mole to be removed. It varies so much re waitiing times all over the country and the backlog due to the pandemic sadly.
I had a biopsy on an atypical mole three weeks after my dermatologist decided she wanted it removing. This was back in May/June this year.

Thanks latchbook, would just like it removed.
All the old anxiety’s pop back into your head while your waiting. Surgeon looked at it and said it had irregular pigment and irregular borders . Was hoping he could tell me more to put my mind at ease, but I know the won’t.

andrew
As we both know they can't be sure if something is a melanoma or not until it's biopsied.
My first lesion, which was a melanoma, the consultant was sure it wasn't anything to worry about but wanted it removing to find out what it was.
This time the consultant thought the mole had changed from last time she'd seen me so wanted it biopsied but thankfully turned out to be an atypical mole. Keeping my fingers crossed that yours will be too.
