Completely vain question!

So...... I'm currently wearing Sunsense SPF50 with the tint day to day on my face, I cleanse tone and moisturise before I pop it on. Although I'm very aware we're now in winter my diagnosis was only this year and I'm just not comfortable going out without a high SPF on. Does anybody have any recommendations of make up with a good  SPF? I have the La Roche Posay which I love under a little bronzer but I used to wear BB cream and now I just feel I'm slapping 3 or 4 layers on my face and I'm sure there must be an easier way......

I basically want suggestions for BB cream/light foundation or any make up tips for the up coming party season. New skin regime needed as my colouring is now fairer due to copious amounts of SPF50 this summer. Thanks x

Party season now is mostly in the dark so melanoma unless I’ve got this completely wrong would seem irrelevant for that part of your question.

Ive had melanoma for 6 years plus and don’t normally wear make up just the required sun protectors from April to October in this country as I haven’t been abroad since diagnosis.

I have been aware that BOOTS the chemist Offer a free service of advice for cosmetics for cancer patients (I think bigger stores and you can check which ones do it), and wondered if you knew as this might be right up your alley and as in those 6 years no one has reported back as using them for info you could do that for us all here maybe ??

  • Thank you! I popped into Boots today and found a No 7 with SPF 50 so going to.give that a try

  • Hi KT

    Thanks for your reply.

I'm not a big make up wearer so if I get a new foundation now I'll still be using it in the summer!

I'm going to have a look at the Boots service

Oh yes Clapet, stupidly that aspect of makeup lasting into the summer if bought now didn’t cross my mind duh !

Let me know if boots help and if they don’t as if they don’t that’s a big hole in their service. Most suncream work by soaking into the skin and forming a barrier so interesting to hear what they recommend.

  • I have a virtual appointment with Boots on Thursday!

The Body shop do the most fantastic light moisturiser with 50++SPF. I wear it on top of my other skin products and it sinks in

  • Thank you!

I'll have a look at that
