Hi all, I had a WLE on my foot in September, following removal of an acral lentiginous melanoma between my toes. The surgery was successful and my lymph nodes were clear so no further treatment necessary. I was told that the surgery was unstraightforward because of where it was (in between the toes) and that there was a reasonable chance of the skin graft not taking. It seemed to take a long time to heal and at one point in November it developed a pocket of fluid on it, which was concerning but it drained naturally after a week or so. However in the last week it has started to become very painful on the bottom of my foot, just around the seam of the scar, making it very hard to walk. This is a problem in my job which involves quite a lot of walking. I have a follow up appointment in January with the dermatology team but I'm worried and wondering if I ought to ask for a follow up sooner (although not sure I'll get one!). Does anyone on here have any experience of this? I am thinking that maybe it is just natural pain due to nerves regenerating, but I'm worried because it's causing significant pain, that is getting worse rather than better (which is always a bit of a red flag I think).
No, my care was transferred back to dermatology from the cancer team. Good to know that nerve pain can last a while - I'm hopeful that is what it is, there is no sign of infection or graft failure so I don't think it can be anything terrible tbh.
