I am due to start immunotherapy in a few weeks but as they find it very difficult to get a cannula in me so much so when I had my surgery they had to use the gas to put me to sleep I am going to have a Picc line fitted. Has anyone else had one and what is it like.
I am having immunotherapy as part of a clinical trial for mucosal melanoma of the vagina & have had a PICC line for about 3 months now. Really didn’t want one because of the weekly appointments for flushing & dressing changes. I have to say that having it done didn’t hurt, it was sore for a couple of weeks but now completely forget about it.
All my drugs go through it, bloods taken from it & even CT contract- saves being stabbed all the time , hope all goes well for you.
