Hi,
I have received a letter today, to inform me that I'm BRAF positive. I'm awaiting appointment with an oncologist. Can anyone tell me if you only receive targeted therapy when BRAF+ or can you be offered Immunotherapy?
Thanks.
Hi Hut, I had targeted therapy first, and then immunotherapy Pembrolizumab. Immunotherapy was not on offer back then. There have been members on here who’s oncologists have given them the choice, so you might want to prepare some questions to find out in your case which they would recommend (first? If that doesn’t sound too pessimistic), and to think about what kind of treatment you would like.
There’s a decision aid with potential questions on the melanoma focus site that I’ve put a link to below, in case it helps.

I have to say when I was on the tablets, I thought how awful it must be to have treatment by cannula and the extra hospital trips for treatment, but you jus5 get used to what ever you have.
Take care KT
