Evening all, a quick question with regards to a lump I have after my SLNB.
On the 22nd June I had my WLE & SLNB, since the op, I have recently noticed a lump at the site of the biopsy. Is this normal? Should I sit tight, or is there something I should be doing?

  • Hi BoshBashBish, My thinking is that the specialist skin cancer nurses would rather tell you it’s nothing, or that they want to have a closer look, than you ponder over the change, as the diagnosis is stressful enough. My nurses are lovely and very supportive, and when I apologise for bothering they say that’s what they are there for. I’ve not had a WLE or SLNB, my lymph node removal was laparoscopically done so I’ve not got the experience your looking for but I hate to see a post go unanswered.

    Take care KT

  • Hi

When I had my SLNB I did have a swelling in my armpit for several weeks. However, I wouldn't call it a lump as such more a large soft area. I agree with KTatHome and if it's worrying you get in touch with your SCNS.

Let us know how you get on.

I will contact the nurses as the lump isn’t soft and more solid.

    cheers
