Hello all, I’ve not used this forum for a while but am finding the need for advice again.
A bit of background, my brother in law was diagnosed with MCL in December 2017, he received the Nordic protocol and stem cell transplant. He was on maintenance rituximab for a year post transplant but that stopped a year ago due to Covid and being abroad.
He is in a bad way emotionally as he only feels about 25% recovered 2 years from ending treatment. He suffers chronic and debilitating fatigue and is in despair. Can anyone help with advice on where he can get some support? He really need some expert therapy. He had a bit of counselling immediately after treatment but the councillor was about 15 years old (exaggeration) and he didn’t continue. He is now in a place where he is more open to getting help.
Thank you all.
Hi again , the post SCT journey for some can be long and slow but good that he is in a position to receive help.
Obviously this has it's limitations due to COVID but could I first suggest you checkout for a local Maggie’s Centre as these folks are amazing and a lot of these services have moved onto online video support but are beginning to offer one on one support once again.
You may also want to check out the Lymphoma Action Buddy Service where he could be connected up with a Buddy who has post SCT experience - nothing better then talking with someone who has walked the walk.
((hugs))
