Hello, my 84 year old mum  has just been diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma and I was looking for some advice if possible. She was actually diagnosed by a different specialist who has now referred her to the haematologist but she’s been told it will take at least two weeks before she sees him. My concern is that she is very weak, can’t eat much and is suffering from sleepless nights and night sweats, itching etc. I feel like two weeks is a long time to wait to see the haematologist for staging and treatment options considering her physical state. Should I be trying to get her seen earlier? It’s almost impossible to speak with a GP at her surgery as they are so busy. I am so worried particularly as I know Mantle Cell is a more serious form of lymphoma.
Any advice would be gratefully received. She’s so lovely and I can’t bear to see her suffering.
