Hello everyone,
Im new to this.
I am about to start chemotherapy for the first time after having two rounds of radiotherapy that did not work. It will be for at least 3 months.
I think I’ve decided on the mixture with the drip and tablets. Has anyone had this type of chemotherapy who can give me anything on what to expect as I’m petrified.
Thanks in advance
Hi Lauren
I went through chemo in 2022 and was also really scared before hand. However although it was challenging at times it was not as bad as I thought it was. I did have side effects but on the whole they could be managed with medication. I also did scalp cooling and kept a lot of hair.
There are lots of different chemotherapy regimes and drugs and they can all have some different side effects. Do you know what type of chemo you will be having? Mine was carboplatin and paclitaxel and it was on a 21 day cycle.
If you know the name of the chemo drugs it may help others be able to share their experiences.
Jane
