My son just got diagnosed with cancer of one tonsil and some lymph nodes on the same side, lucky it hasn't spread, I have 2 kids my son is 34 and my daughter is 17, they both have ASD and ADHD, I am so scared as I don't have a lot of help and I don't know how I'm going to split myself to be there for both as my son might have to have a feeding tube so will need to stay in for 2 nights, and I can't leave my daughter on her own over night but I need to be there for my son, I'm trying to stay as positive as possible but I'm so scared that something will go wrong and that he will suffer, I feel like crying all the time but I'm trying not to, I don't have many people to talk to so I'm finding things really hard, I'm so for going on, its just overwhelming.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

I can see that you've posted and had replies in the head and neck cancer and carers only groups and hope that you are finding it helpful to talk to others in a similar situation as yourself.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your son's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
