Hi jolily and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your mum's chemotherapy has been stopped as her team have found that her bowel cancer has spread into her lymph nodes. I don't know how serious this is, as I had a different type of cancer, but I do know that immunotherapy has been used very successfully to treat people with the type of cancer I had when it's spread to the lymph nodes.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post in the bowel cancer group as this will allow you to connect with others whose bowel cancer has spread to their lymph nodes.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

Hi jolily
You are most welcome to join us over on the bowel forum . A friendly bunch !
Sounds as though they are altering her treatment plan due to the presentation of lymph node involvements.
Changing her to immunotherapy can actually be much better suited to her cell type and we currently have a few people on the forum using Immunotherapy and its keeping everything stable for now . You might find it useful to connect with them .
Its certainly not without hope . Being able to use Immunotherapy with bowel cancer is relatively new on the NHS for bowel cancer but I have been following some cases in the US and getting some good results .
Take care ,
