I’m not a patient it’s my husband that’s suffering, last weeks scan results didn’t happen because they hadn’t located them! Telephone consultation was useless, today 45 minutes trying to get through on the emergency medical oncology phone line, then told my husband needs blood tests tomorrow at one hospital then go to another hospital to see the Consultant .Told to stop his blood thinners tonight and tomorrow morning but takes them because he’s had blood clots in the past, asked if we could be seen at the nearer hospital but told No because the lung clinic is at a different one to where he has Chemotherapy, doesn’t make sense!.
Hello again School,
That sounds crazy to have you both chasing around everywhere, all I can think is they're either completely disorganised or need to do this to sort your husband's issues as quickly as possible?
I hope things calm down for you with less rushing about between hospitals and appointments.

Hello
Yes it is frustrating. All my investigations were in one hospital and my treatment was in another hospital 55 miles away.
I live in North Wales, which is where I was investigated and where my five year follow ups are, but my treatment was in a hospital in England, this is because the treatment I had; Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) was not available as they did not have the facility there. Even if I had chosen surgery I would have had to travel to England, which was in a separate hospital to the one which provided my SABR treatment. I had to travel a 110mile round trip every other day for three weeks...which, along with the fatigue I had with the radiotherapy plus all the travelling, I found it all totally exhausting.
That was two and a half year's ago, and now, thankfully, I just need to attend my Cancer Centre in North Wales for my six monthly follow ups.
Ann
