I have recently been diagnosed with R lung mesothelioma. I am female aged 80 years old generally fit and healthy. Have been offered Immunotherapy. Has anyone any information as to how this treatment has affected them.

  • Hello ,

A warm welcome to the lung cancer forum, although I'm very sorry you have the need to join.

I don't have any direct experience of mesothelioma, my history is lung and prostate cancer. However, there is a dedicated mesothelioma forum here in the online community and I suggest you join that and repost to link with others dealing with the same condition.

I've added a link to this below.

    Best wishes, Derek.

  • Good morning   Welcome to the group, but I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I know what a terrible shock this would of been for you, especially as you are fit and healthy, you probably were not expecting it.

I haven’t had immunotherapy, but I will post a link to an information page below which will give you an insight to the treatment. There are several types of immunotherapy which are all explained in the leaflet. You can also download a booklet from that page. Just click on the link below and it will take you to the page.

Hopefully someone who has had this treatment will be along soon to share their experience with you.
