  • Hi

Welcome to the group, but sorry to hear about your mum, that must of been hard for you to learn that she cannot have any treatment.

To hear someone in pain is really upsetting. Is mum on any pain meds currently? If not then you need to speak to her GP to arrange this. Your GP can make a referral to the local hospice, who can help mum with pain management as well supporting her emotionally. Hospices have evolved over the years, and are now really great places that help people to live as well as they can with this disease.

Looking after someone with cancer is very stressful, and you need to make sure you look after yourself as well. Can I suggest you also join the Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum

where you will meet other people in a similar situation to yourself. You can also chat to someone on the MacMillan support line which is available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm on 0808 808 00 00.

Please do come here to chat whenever you feel the need, always someone here to share your thoughts with.
