Not one for posting on social media, recent diagnosis made me change my mind.
I have been recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer - Adenocarcinoma. It has metastasised into my lymph nodes and liver. I have my first appointment with the oncologist next week and approaching it with trepidation but also with the mindset of problem solving.
I feel physically and mentally fit (so far) and at some point want to help others but as everyone tells me one step at a time, and I must focus on my health before embarking on new ideas.
Not expecting any replies but just wanted to jot a few words down by way of starting the journey.
It is a journey none of us have volunteered for but here we are.
My Lung one had metastasised from my bowel one. Had my bowel surgery in 03 then my lung one in 04. I can honestly tell you I feel quite normal now and much myself. You sound strong in yourself so I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be the same as me after treatment. I didn't need Chem'o after my surgeries and still don't take any medication whatsoever. The medical staff are quite surprised not only because of my problems but because I am now 84 and quite fit and healthy
