Hello, I am just at the early stage of diagnosis but already know I will be having surgery soon and will be losing quite a lot of my lung. As well as being overwhelmed by that, I am really worried about the pain after surgery. I have very severe IBS and can't tolerate pain killers, and would be really grateful if anyone has had a similar difficulty and found ways to manage the pain. Thank you very much.
Hi Mango
Given the probable extent of your surgery, you will be recovering in hospital for quite a while. Therefore it will be important that you get any pain relief sorted before you leave hospital. This will also enable your GP to continue the same pain relief as and when you need it going forward.
Good luck with the op.
