My husband has been diagnosed with this we are currently in a bubble it doesn't feel real. He went intially due to shortness of breath the scan picked up narrowed artery in his heart but also showed a significant tumour in the bottom of his lung which has spread. No symptoms. Waiting for MDT plan. Lots of worries about what's going to happen and me being able to hold down my job at the same time as supporting him. Any advice please

  • No matter what life throws at you,  you will be strong , I'm terminal with lung cancer and my husband has dementia , I care for him best I can which is what you will do,  stop worrying about the future and live for now, life as a habit of showing us the way

  • Please ensure your husband is tested for ALK+ cancer. Lung cancer with brain Mets is very typical of it. The prognosis and treatment are extremely different to lung cancer.

    sending all good wishes.

  • My heart goes out to you.

I lost my partner earlier this year after a Terminal diagnosis. Sit down and talk to your boss. I found the company I work for to be extremely supportive. Also please get in touch with Macmillan. With support you will get through this. I am not saying it will be easy but please do get yourself some support and don't be afraid to open up and talk about your feelings and your worries.

May I wish you the best of luck in this difficult time
