Lovely 60th present, not! Diagnosed with an 8.5 x5 cm tumor on my right hilum, i call it the junctoon box of my lung. It's small cell aggressive and I was told i had about 3 months without treatment, my treatment started 2 days later, chemo, and couldn't come soon enough. Have had another dose of chemo but this time I'm to have radiotherapy as well, 2 lots on the same day! Can't say I'm not scared but has to be done so no choice really. Then I will continue with 2 lots of radiotherapy monday to friday for 3 weeks, wish me luck.

  • I was diagnosed 1 month after I turned 60 with SCLC in July.  They never mentioned treatment not being an option.  I had a tumor that was 6cmx7cm. I did emergency chemo and just finished my fourth round.  I also had gamma knife therapy to remove 18 small tumors on my brain.  Have they scheduled a pet scan for you?  I just had mine a couple of weeks ago to see how the chemo was working.  All my tumors shrank dramatically.  The obe that was 6x7 is now 1x2. I'm kind of glad that everything happened so fast.  I had no time to dwell on it and worry.  So far, I have had very few side effects.  Hang in there!  We are going to get through this.
