Hi

I am awaiting my results of the biopsy to confirm my condition why does one keep lossing weight is that normal with cancer

  • Hello Welshlad,

Not sure if it's to do with the Cancer as such. I lost mine due to stress nearly two stone. I am now having treatment immunotherapy and have put the weight back on. Maybe someone on this forum might be able to help you. Good luck.

  • thanks for your reply all the best

  • Hi, weight loss is quite normal in people with cancer. There can be various reasons, low appetite, stress and worry etc.

In my case before diagnosis I hadn't lost any weight, but after diagnosis and subsequent treatment I lost a bit of weight because of anxiety about the diagnosis and also the treatment I had made me lose my appetite, hence a bit of weight loss.

    Good luck with your results.

    Ann

  • I think they record your weight at follow-ups to keep an eye on things - loss shows that something is not quite right and may be a red flag, an indication for further investigation?
