Hello Im new on here. I was diagnosed with stomach cancer in Jan. Had staging lap, no cancer cells elsewhere 4 rounds of FLOT then next CT showed nodules on lung now awaiting PET to see if they’re cancerous. Not sure how I feel about anything …….just want to get on with it.

  • Hi' LadyRacer. you've come to the right place, we help each other out as best we can. Yes get on with it is about all we can do. It's the waiting that gets annoying but try to remember there's others just like us in front of us waiting. The pet scan takes more time than a normal one, it's more involving but not painful.

I had an 80mm bowel cancer removed in 03, then a lung one removed last year. Had a scan about two month ago then my consultation two week ago nothing to report. I feel normal now so stay positive, we've all been where you are now.  You've joined a club that none of us want to be a member of but here we are

  • Thanks for that Jagman, it’s always encouraging to hear that people do come out the other side of treatment and get back to normal.

  • Hi

I know it doesn't feel like it at the moment, but you will "come out the other side". I had stage2 breast cancer 35 year's ago with surgery and subsequent radiotherapy. Coming up to two years now (August 2023) I was diagnosed with lung cancer, I felt at the time "not again" and, like you, it seemed daunting to go through all the treatment once again. I am now back to normal, after three positive CT scans which showed good shrinkage and no activity.

At the time I had the breast cancer my son was 12, and the fear that I might not see him grow terrified me....he is now 47 with a lovely young family of his own.

Stay positive and best wishes to you.
