Hi,

Have been diagnosed with stage 3a lung cancer had radiotherapy/chemotherapy as mentioned previously. I am due to start immunotherapy next week. My question is roughly how long do l have with hubby?

  • How long is a piece of string. Stay positive it doesn't mean the end. I had Bowel surgery in 03 then lung surgery last October.  I'm quite happy with myself and feel quite normal. Enjoying my life as always. there are some folk on here who have had a terrible time but still here.

My wife had Ovarian then Kidney back in the early 70's and she's still with me. Stay positive and love your hubby.

  • I was diagnosed with Stage 2B in Feb 2017, and it went to Stage 3A in Nov 2018.  Since re-staging I've had radiotherapy and chemo (only 2 rounds because I got sepsis) but then a year's immunotherapy, finishing in April 2020, and I was discharged with no evidence of recurrence in July last year.  I feel lucky.  I never expected to survive, so I tried to face that fair and square and then treated each day as a gift.  Here I am.  I found the immunotherapy easy and I suspect it was that that did the trick.  They are developing new treatments all the time.  You could have years and years with your hubby, and I send lots of strongs, and good thoughts that you do!

  • Have you had your CT scan after Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. My husbands scan showed his tumour had shrunk by half and the oncologist was extremely optimistic that with Immunotherapy what was left would become dead tissue. The doctors said it was a curative treatment?
We expect a good few years yet together.
Be optimistic. My husband tries to fit in treatment and appointments around his golf. He is so much better when he is playing.
