Hello everyone,
I was due to have a biopsy on a lower left lung lobe lesion which is right on, or possibly in, my diaphragm. When I rang to find out when it would be, I was told that it was on hold until after an MDT meeting (which I didn't know was happening).
I then had a phone call on Thursday late afternoon to say that I am going to have surgery and my appointment with the consultant has been moved to this Monday from the following one.
I'm a little worried that this means it's now very urgent to get the B'stard out.
Does this happen often?
Hi Samjamtom welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here, I know how terrifying this is for you. I had to have surgery fairly quickly, because my tumour was in the bronchial airway so I was struggling to breath. When it does happen this quickly you don’t have too much time to think, which is a good thing. They will do a full histology on what they take out, so they will know exactly what cancer type they are dealing with, which means treatment can follow without needing further tests or biopsies.
Good luck for tomorrow’s appointment. Do you have anyone to go with you ?

Thank you for telling me that, it's good to know that the biopsy will happen.
I have a close friend coming with me, who has suggested that we ask to record the conversation so that we don't miss anything. She'll also take notes. She knows that my ADHD brain is already in overdrive and is likely to fly off into worst case scenarios and not listen properly!
