Just saying hi again as I thought I had signed up as floored but couldnt get back on so now I'm frazzled.. Just been told I have lung cancer and go for biopsy Tuesday never so scared in all my life. As floored a lady said hello and a bit about herself just wanted to say thank you. And what a fighter you are as I read your profile just cant remember the name.

  • You made me laugh floored or frazzled, my name is Tracy but profile page is bobbyjay , I just wanted you read it as there is light at a lot of these tunnels we go thro, have u any idea of stage or type of cancer and where exactly it is? I didn't ask much when I found out apart from I'm I going to die he said no , then I went away and thot about it frazzled as your feeling now , I found it hard to take it in what was being said , so I'm Tracy I'm 51 and I'm from Scotland x

  • Hi. I’ve just found out I have lung cancer too. Im waiting to see surgical team as they have said I can have it removed & I'm going to go with that. Once I’ve seen surgical team then I will get it sorted. It has been very scary indeed & a shock, I still feel like it’s a bad dream but am trying to be positive as I don’t know what else to do. It’s hard putting a brave face in front of my adult children but feel I have to. I’m 61 & feel like I’m walking around in a dream!

  • Here's your other thread.  The mods might be able to merge them.

    New here

It's very overwhelming during the stage when doctors are gathering information to tell them what they're dealing with but it's necessary so they can determine the best treatment options.

It's OK to tell the person doing your biopsy that you're scared.  I get my doctors to prescribe lorazepam for me whenever I need an invasive procedure done under local anaesthetic.

Waiting for results is stressful.  Ask how long it will take to get the results and try to organise doing some things you enjoy doing that time.

  • It's hard Sleepy but I was like u , if its surgery like myself and is very early they took it out of me and that's when it hit me after it was gone but I tried to just stay positive as I could I was only in hospital for 5days with 1st op it was keyhole I was on my feet next day  I was lucky being caught early and not needing any form of therapy , fingers crossed they got it early on yourself, did u have any symptoms?I didn't have any symptoms mine was found just on standard  xray of chest

  • Hello

You made me smile too floored and frazzled is a great description of how I felt too

I tried to keep it to the back of my mind and concentrate on a little exercise and treats.

Keep us posted and chat here if it helps. I found that talking here helped

    take care

  • Hi. No I was offered a free lung scan by text from the NHS & took up the offer so was shocked when I got a call 19 days later to say a shadow had been found!

  • That was luck then finding out early, it was meant to be you'll be so glad you took them up on the offer Praysomeone up there looking out for you x

  • I meant to say they operated on myself and I also have copd , I just had a read at your profile page about surgery x

    1. Hi. Yes it was a relief to be offered surgery cause that’s what I was hoping. Fingers & toes crossed for you. Have you had another PET scan since surgery. You were luck to finding out on x ray. Because having no symptoms it seems to come out the blue but as you say someone is watching me & I believe it’s my son as I told him I could be with him sooner than we thought x
