Hi, my sister was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes. She's 57 and sue to start her first round of chemotherapy and immunotherapy on Wednesday. Just wondering if there any advice you would give to how best to support her and what side effects are most common. Thanks
Hey! Firstly I'm sorry to hear that it's so lovely you are looking for practical advise on how to support her. She is a lucky sister!
The main side effects are feeling the cold, hot water bottles and fluffy socks and blankets are a great help. Mouth sores can be common and bonjela is useful. Taking her antisickness regularly and not waiting until she feels sick keeps sickness at bay.
A digital thermometer is a handy thing to have to accurately check her temperature incase she has a fever.
I would definatly suggest watching some videos on YouTube, I have a channel (My Uncurable Cancer Diary) and there are many others out there.. they can be a great source of comfort and information.
I hope she is doing well, and you are too. ♡
Thank you
we will watch the you tube videos and hadn't thought of getting some bonjela.
thank you for the advice xxx
