Hello new to group
I was informed by my GP Friday that my CT scan has showed suspected lung cancer on both lungs .
My GP made an urgent 2 week referel the link said further tests are required.
I realise this group is for people already diagnosed but was wondering if anyone else was told this over the phone by GP I have found it a bit scary to be left with this information ,although I only have to wait two weeks to find out what this means it's made me anxious
Thankyou for anyone who can help I wil find it very difficult to go to work without any information
Hi Cheyenne welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here.
Yes I was told by my GP over the phone that I had cancer in both lungs, after I had an x-ray for what I thought was a chest infection. The next day I had a phone call from the hospital and was asked to go up for blood tests and breathing tests. This was with the respiratory department. I then had to have a CT to confirm cancer before I was passed to the oncology team.
This was 7 years ago, but I still remember the panic that I felt. It will not be easy for you to go to work and carry on as normal with this going on. There will certainly be a few tests to go through before you get your diagnoses and treatment plan. If you click on my profile picture you will be able to go to my profile and read about my journey so far.
We have all been where you are, so we know exactly how you are feeling. You are not alone in this, there will always be someone here to chat with.
Thankyou so much for replying to my message reassuring to know there are others who have been through the process I am going through nowand I wil certainly go on your details to read your story thanku x
Hi Cheyenne, sending you a message of support. I have also recently joined this group but don't have a lung diagnosis yet. I had bowel cancer last year and my CT showed 2 lesions on one lung in June, the nurse said they can't rule out it's not connected to my previous cancer. I'm finding the wait terrible. 3 and a half months, I've had a PET Scan, another CT and breathing tests but no news. I've emailed and left messages but no one has been back to confirm. I've been waking up with a pain like a sharp stab. The nurse told me I wouldn't have symptoms and wouldn't feel anything, so is this anxiety.? So please to read here they can do surgery by keyhole.
