Hello,
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense.
After seeing my GP in Feb this year because of a sudden really bad cough, chest pain and breathlessness I was diagnosed with lung cancer in June. On 2nd July after a PET scan i was told it had spread to my bones and my brain. This was a total shock. I'm 72, but pretty fit, walk a lot, have never smoked. I started treatment in August - chemo & immunotherapy. After my first treatment i got an infection, then again after the second. Also after the second there was a problem with my kidneys so they paused the treatment for a few weeks. I had my third treatment last week and the side effects this time are much worse. I don't understand why as this time they have reduced the dose of the drugs so I expected it to feel better.
I've had 6 oncology clinic appointments now and seen 4 different doctors. I find it very hard talking to a different doctor nearly every time. One was particularly unsympathetic and when I asked for more anti sickness medication (because I didn't have any left) she just said 'You don't need them'.
I haven't been able to eat anything yesterday or today. I just feel exhausted and sick. I'm terrified of getting another infection. They said i had pneumonia. I don't know how long I've got to live and I feel terrified.
