Hi , after 7 weeks of test and scans and biopsy’s, mum had the devastating news that she has stage 4 lung cancer. Our hearts are broken. I gave up work to look after mum and take her to hospital appointments etc and have remainEd strong and busy, but today I am struggling, I cannot bear to see her suffering, we see an oncologist on Friday, but it seems a lifetime away and I want to help her now, in the last few days her appetite has gone, and she is in pain. Her eye sight is not good (they think she had a mini stroke), but I’m not so sure , I just feel I need some help
Hi M54, Sorry about what’s going on with your mum, I’m new to this myself, I too have lung cancer and have had a stroke on a couple of occasions, all I can stay is try to stay strong and positive for your mum, my wife who is usually my rock has taken my diagnosis worst than I have and I seem to be holding her together rather than the other way around, stay strong and keep it together for your mums sake. Good luck and best wishes to you, your mum and family on this horrible journey.
kind regards, LiamMcE
Thankyou so much for replying, I’m so sorry that you too are going through this, I’m back to being strong, just felt a bit low and unsure this morning. I hope all goes well for you and your wife x sending hugs
