Just been told two nodes on my lung are what I feared they would be. Was picked up at my regular screening following surgery for kidney cancer. Had partial nephrectomy in 2013 and was clear until then it returned and had the kidney removed just before lockdown last year. Was hoping I would get away with it (like everyone I guess but not lucky this time. I was lucky with the kidney as surgery was the only treatment so it didn't feel
Never smoked live pretty healthy but no not enough it seems you need a good helping of luck too .
However our fabulous NHS here have got in early so hoping it'll be ok but hard to get that nagging doubt to stop popping up . Will be having radiotherapy soon so fingers crossed.
I know that so many are so much worse off but sometimes hard to find perspective after so much hospital stuff (a broken hip and a hip replacement in between the other ops) andgalloping arthritis too.
Hi Chris29, welcome to the group, but sorry you find yourself here. It is hard sometimes to accept what is happening to us, and it sounds like you have had your fair share of hospital treatment. What I have learnt is that it is ok to feel down and fed up, because I now know that I probably will feel better tomorrow. Take each day as it comes.
I had very good results from radiotherapy. The treatment itself is extremely easy. You just lay on a bed, and a machine like an x-ray machine moves around you. It takes minutes and is painless. There are of course side effects with any treatment, and your team will explain these to you.
