I was 56 when mine fell out so not so old either. Just another quick note to say that if you do fancy a wig have a word with your CNS because you should be able to get an allowance towards the purchase price as your hair is guaranteed to fall out. Good luck xx

I lost a dear friend last year to MND, horrible horrible disease! I had no symptoms at all prior to my diagnosis. I moved home and got sent for a chest X-ray as part of my registration and health check as a new patient and off we went from there xx

Similar to me .. first symptoms for me was a pain in my lower back which turned out to be a pleural effusion! And off we went from there .. I’m convinced the enthusiastic student doctor requested so many tests that was the only reason my cancer was discovered

Im 52 and had one cycle of docetaxel and lost great chunks of hair, also have a bald parting due to radiotherapy. I cant find any scarves, etc that will actually stay in my hair so I have this wild frizz on top and cats sookins at the back!

    Hiya Debs

apologies for late reply ... I had a DVT diagnosed ! Which was a  bit of a disappointment! So now injecting myself daily ... on the plus side tho’ my hair is hanging on in there! .. just very thin. Lots comes out but I still seem to have plenty left!

I'm sorry that you have to deal with hair loss due to the disease; I hope you will be treated as soon as possible. Many people use razors to get rid of all their hair once and for all and not face the gradual fall. This stage is not pleasant at all, and it is uncomfortable to do it because of the scars that may remain on the skin. I know people who use IPL machines Australia to easily manage hair loss and prevent the growth of short hairs that can sting.
