My hubby has lung cancer five years since sclc was diagnosed. I have a funny feeling that his employer maybe considering termination on health grounds but he is currently not well due to a chest infection. Question is if he doesn’t work which he doesn’t really feel fit enough really could he claim any benefits.
Hi battybev and welcome to the online community, but sorry to hear about your husband. We have welfare officers that can speak to you about what benefits you and your husband may be entitled too. They’re available on freephone 0808 808 0000 Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am – 5pm.
I hope your husbands chest infection clears soon, and he starts to feel better.
Take care
Hi Battybev
Sorry regarding your situation, dealing with cancer is bad enough without having the worry of financial issues.
Depending on Hubby's age and how long he has been in his current job, ill-health retirement could possibly be an option. Worth looking into as well as taking Chelle's advice regarding benefits.
Hope you get this sorted.
