Hi everyone im new to this and just wanted to introduce myself. so everything happened so quickly it feels like a dream somtimes!!!
I felt unwell for a few months and just put it down to stress (like you do). Eventually went to my GP on the 31.12.21 as i was experiencing swelling on my neck and chest and i had a few burst blood vessels on my chest, she sent me straight to the hospital just be sure. l had an x-ray that wednesday afternoon which revieled i had a clouding on my chest. As i was not in any pain they sent me home to wait for an outpatient ct scan. By the sunday of that week i was really swollen and could not breath so i went back to hospital alone. Because of the swelling they did my ct scan that afternoon. I thought maybe i had covid or a chest infection. By six o,clock that evening they broke the devastating news that i had a mass on my right lung and they we 95% sure it was cancer!!!! What a true saying how your life can change in a second. They kept me in hospital for a week and i had a biopsy, 2 more ct scans a PET scan and one round of chemo by the following sunday. I have since had another round of chemo and i feel okay. Next week i find out if iam having radiotheraphy now or waiting till my chemo has finished. I am a fifty year old woman in two weeks time and my cancer is at stage three.
Hi CraftyNicky.
So sorry that you have cause to be on here.
The positive is that Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) does often respond well to chemo.
Keep us all up to date with your treatment.
I wish you the best possible outcomes.

Thanks for your message, take care x
Lol CraftyNicky - when I get worse I will change it to ‘IF I wake up this morning .... glad yours is shrinking too!!
Hi Nicky
That is great news. Hopefully the tumour shrinking after one cycle of chemo may make the addition of radiotherapy treatment more of a possibility. Fingers crossed!
