I am jumping ahead a bit as my surgery isn't until early Jan. But, once it's over, does anyone know how to go about requesting a different consultant for ongoing monitoring over the coming years? I'm very happy with the surgeon but the consultant who first raised concerns, and who I have only spoken to on the phone, was awful - patronising, dismissive etc so I really don't want him to be the one responsible for ongoing monitoring. Any knowledge of how easy it is to request someone else in the same team would be much appreciated. I assume it is my right to make this request but am not sure. Thank you very much.
Hello Mango,
I suggest you contact PALS in the first instance. The link below describes what they do and how to contact them, just type in your postcode to search for the hospital you're being treated by.
