Hi all,

My husband is really struggling with night sweats, full body soaking. We've tried keeping him warm, keeping him cool, cotton clothes, bedding. Tried layers. He is having to sleep on towels and we are getting through all the towels in the house and all the pj's and blankets every night and not really getting any sleep.

Has anyone got any brilliant ideas to help?

From a very sleep deprived stressed household and an overworked washing machine!

  • Hi   he has my sympathy, night sweats are awful! There are a few things that I do to help with my night sweats. I have a fan next to the bed, so it blows on my face, this also helps with my breathing. we don’t have the heating on at all in our room either. You can get cool mats to put under the sheet, and there are cooling pillows you can buy. I also avoid any hot drinks before bed time, and I don’t have a bath before bed as this also makes mine worse! It is also best to avoid alcohol.

It is horrible. I can be fine all evening, but the second my head hits the pillow I feel my head getting hot! I’m kicking off the sheets as hubby is pulling them up because he’s cold!

  • I'm a bit worried about cooling the room anymore as hes pretty cold to touch and his temperature has been a little low the past few days. I thought it may be cold sweats but it doesnt make a difference if he is cold or hot Disappointed

  • With my hot sweats I can boiling hot but my feet freezing cold! It’s the weirdest feeling.

Has this started suddenly ? Is it due to meds? Have you spoken to his GP to see if there is anything that can help? Mine is due to the hormone treatment I am on, so I just have to live with it.
