I am on week 6 of my radiotherapy for NSCLC, just 3 more sessions to go. The side effects are really affecting me now. My appetite is zero and no energy and finding it hard to take in anything. I have got some supplement shakes from the dietitian but even they are a huge effort. The pain in my Oesophagus is horrible. Has anyone else suffered like this. I am so close to the end now and counting down but I am so down and just keep crying all the time, I feel really rough. I know I need to take in calories etc but struggling. Just needed to write it down and knew this was the best place
I had 3 rounds of chemo and then the radiotherapy. I ended up being prescribed steroids which helped massively and meant I was able to eat, small amounts at first but they also gave me some energy finally. It probably took a good 4 weeks before I started to feel a bit better. I finished radiotherapy in November but it did take a while to get my strength back. I am on 2 years of immunotherapy now which has far fewer side effects thankfully.
Yes I start chemo and radiotherapy on Monday 30 lots of radiotherapy and 2/3 of chemo carbo and vino chemo thank you for taking the time to reply and I ll keep my fingers crossed all goes well under the Marsden so very happy there . Hope yours goes well as well
