Hi! Glad to be here.
My name is Ann E. and I live in Southern California, USA. I’m a single Woman, with a life long Partner, that Iives in Las Vegas, Nevada. I just turned 70 yrs old, this year and have 2 Daughters in their mid Twenties, plus my wonderful 2 Boy Dogs who are my room-mates, when my Daughters aren’t visiting! I am a retired Psychiatric RN, of 40 years and loved my Profession.
I have been having cat scans every 6 months for the past 3 years, due to my history of smoking for over 30 years. I was involved in an early Cancer detection group through my HealthCare and Pulmonary MD.
I had benign nodes on my Lungs from my first CT Scan in 2021. I had A Bronchoscopy in 2022, which confirmed that the cysts noted were not cancer. I continued to have CT scans and in May 2023 a small lesion in my lower left lung was noted to be suspicious. It was apparently there since 2021, but was tiny with little characteristics until now. My scan in Nov 2023, noted the concerning node to be growing, with irregular borders and the Radiologist mentioned to get a biopsy of this probable Adenocarcinoma, and consult a Thoracic Surgeon!
I did my homework and researched and found an experienced, well Educated, with many notable awards, Surgeon. His office got me in to see him within 5 days! Unheard of today! He was nice, direct and softspoken. He looked at my CT scans and told me I needed Surgery, as soon as possible. I had a list of medical tests to get within the week of Thanksgiving. Plus the Biopsy to confirm the suspected cancer. I was going from place to get these tests quickly because I was scheduled for Surgery on December 5th, 2023.
I was scheduled for a resection of my lobe, but the Surgeon explained if my Surgical margin wasn’t clean from Cancer, I would be given a Lobectomy of my Left Lower Lobe.
I did not have to have pre- Surgical Chemo or Radiation for my Stage 1 Cancer.
The Surgery went well and was performed with VAT Robotic Assistance. I was certainly in pain and woke up with 2 chest tubes. The hospital stay of 3 nights/4days was a medicated blur. My recovery of 6 months brings me to this week. I had my first 6 month post surgery CT scan on Monday. My appt is this afternoon for the results.
Hi Anne, I really hope today went well for you.
Hi All
im breaking out of hospital today Togo ABBA (in sha Allah if god wills) unfortunately my full body ct showed my lung has increased slightly and low and behold a brand new 4cm tumor on my overies which looks like it’s benign but fast growing as didn’t appear 2 months ago and I have colitis . This is why my pain was unbearable as colitis is very painful and I wasn’t absorbing my morphine so pain was getting worse. Now I have a contractption which looks like a Nintendo 64 attached to my arm under my skin which they giving me through a syringe morphine and everything else they can for a few days to give my bowls recovery time but enough about my shenanigans just Please pray people . Also good luck to all having tests and having procedures. To all a massive you r not alone in ur journey we r all here with you .we have been dealt unfortunate cards let’s see if we can still play with grace or throw the cards at each other . Honestly scream and shout on this chat that’s what im here for my loves.

Talk about a Super Trouper, So pleased to see you will get to your concert tonight, Rehana. Have a fantastic time and forget the rest of it for a while.
Thanks everyone for your well wishes last week! My 6month post surgery CT was clear of Cancer! Yay!
It’s great news- as I was scared.
Got the Dr’s order for another CT in 6 months- beginning of December. So every 6 months for 3 years, will be like living in 6 month segments of highs and lows of anticipation of reoccurrence and whatever actually happens?
Yes, it was negative for Cancer. I can breathe easy for the next 6months. My lungs did show some advance changes for my Interstitial Lung Disease. I had this diagnosed prior to the Cancer. I meet with my Pulmonologist in July to find out what this means?
what were the results of your Mum’s CT scan ?
Saying prayers for you both!!
