My Mam has metastatic lung cancer, it has spread to her bones (spine, hip, pelvis). Currently she is just sleeping all the time and not eating also not taking her medication correctly. At the minute I'm at a loss as to what to do as she just shouts when you try and encourage her to eat, take meds or stay awake long enough to do anything. She is up and down through the night, could this be because she sleeps most of the day? Should I be taking her to hospital or hope that if she gets enough rest she'll pull herself around?
Hi Leigh
Have you spoken to her cancer team about respite care? Perhaps a couple of days in hospital or a hospice would be beneficial?
