I've been keeping a diary since this all started, mainly as a memory as mine is poor. Such mundane subjects as tummy movement or when I last took my meds. It's turned out to be such a help especially in hospital.
It's also been good for tracking this journey called Cancer, I've felt that the process has been dragging It's feet. So it was quite a surprise when I counted the days from confirmation that the tumour was indeed cancer and having it removed. Only 49 days. It has felt like so much longer though.
I think that I've been very fortunate with everything just falling into place. I was unaware about the urgency in which cancer needs to be dealt with. When the surgeon had said his earliest space was the 8th of August, I tthought great that's quick, he however thought that was to long to wait and got me a space on another surgeon's list 26th July. A lesson learnt. Time is the essence. I've been exceptionally fortunate with the timing of the whole process. Now I have a 6 8 week wait for the results .
