Had my follow up and all good. Had right mid lobectomy 3 May 23 to remove typical carcinoid. Histology confirmed TC. Good margins and no lymph node involvement,

was so pleased forgot to ask when I can fly, as need a hol and my daughter wants to book for Hawaii to celebrate her 30 later in year.

what have others done? Also who will insure me?

  • Hi

I hope you don't mind me replying to you, as I'm not a member of this group, but the subject title caught my eye.

Unfortunately, it can be more difficult to get travel insurance when you've had a cancer diagnosis so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the travel insurance group.

To join just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, look for the thread called 'Recommended Travel Insurance' as it's where the majority of recommendations are to be found. There are lots of recommendations in the thread so it's best to compile a list and then sit down with a big cup of tea and start phoning.

I can't answer your question about when it's okay to fly but your CNS or consultant would be best placed to answer that as they know your medical history.
