Sorry for opening this new thread.
If it's not OK then I can delete it again.
But I am a bit lost. Since my appointment with the lung specialist last week and xray I read a lot in this forum and tried to figure out the main symptoms of lung cancer and also read too often that an x-ray is not enough to be sure if there is a tumor.
My problem is that I am allergic against the CT contrast.
So no idea if to take a CT without contrast or just go on with my few symptoms (pain in the fingers and sometimes chest pain and a bit breathlessness inspite of very good lung function test)
You have had an X-ray, which came back clear, your breathing test was good. I assume it’s the iodine in the contrast for the CT scan you are allergic to but as you have had an mri scan with contrast previously it would seem that the mri is the way to go for looking in the chest. Other than blood tests and biopsy along with scans I don’t think there are any other tests to do for you and biopsy is ruled out as you have to have something to take a sample from.
it will be interesting to hear which investigations you undergo
You Don't think finger pain is because of sclc symptoms?
I never had such strange finger pains. They switch from one finger to next or hand or fingertipps or lower finger parts.
I also read that Lung cancer is the commonest cause of acrometastatic disease to the fingers.
But is this the same? I have no idea.
Sorry for asking too many questions.
Yeah it's horrible.
The lung specialist said to me very seldom the lung cancer makes pain in the fingers.
Such a big shock. This means I have with high probability lung cancer. And in this case especially the sclc.
I knew there was something very wrong. Even with a clear x-ray.
Sclc is worst to get.
Why do you think, with high probability you have lung cancer ? When you had a Ct 3 months ago that is clear, an X-ray that is clear, and a high lung function test ?
Have been quietly following this thread for several days. I have stage 3b N2 lung cancer, found more or less by accident (zero symptoms) but very apparent on 1st xray and confirmed by all the usual tests and scans.
My advice is like all the others, stop googling and getting yourself worked up, it appears you are attributing your minor symptoms to fit what you have been reading, accept the results and advice you have had from your medical professionals, after all they are far more qualified to advise, than people on a forum.
Im not being unkind but your posts are begining to make it look like you have Hypocondria rather than any form of cancer so far?
Trust the professionals not the internet!!
I had a head mri 3 months ago. Not a thorax CT.
I think I have with high probability sclc because of my finger pains, a bit nausea, chest pain, slightly breathless and nightsweet.
But your doctors do not think this. I can see you need help, but not with a lung cancer, so I wish you good luck, and a good day.
