Stage 4 lung cancer blues

Stage 4 incurable lung cancer with mets diagnosed December 21. Totally shocked as it came out of the blue. Currently on a trial drug tablet form targeted therapy. Although I count myself lucky to be on this trial and expectation for prolonging my life is good I suffer dreadfully with anxiety and emotional lows. My life has changed from being active at work. (Going to retire in August) given up volunteering in the community due to shielding and spending time sorting finances and thinking of planning a funeral. How is everyone else coping with their emotions ?

Hi Chellesimo,  thank you so much for your reply and suggestions.  Yes, I've just started a new thread , thanks.

I think we are on the same boat.  It sounds you are coping well and you are right we need to take each day at a time.

Look forward for our next chat and take care.

  • Hi karkar I have been on the drug about 6 weeks now. I have had my four week check which all appeared to be fine with my bloods. I am having a scan on 4th May so am a little anxious about that. Reason being  if cancer has progressed it means tablet not working and I will be offered other treatment options. However I do feel some symptoms of the cancer have improved so I am hopeful.
