Hi all,
have just joined the forum. I was diagnosed with stage 4 NSC lung cancer in November 2021. It was a massive shock as I’m a non smoking relatively healthy person.
I started off on chemotherapy in January but was then put on Osimertinib on 11 February. The first 3 weeks were ok just had an acne style rash on my chest and back for which I got shower gel and lotion to ease it.
Three weeks in I developed really bad fatigue and nausea and have lost nearly a stone in weight. Can anyone tell me if they have experienced these symptoms and if so for how long? Do they ease over time? The bone crushing tiredness is really getting to me and I really can’t bear the thought of this being my life for the next few months/years or even indefinitely.
Thank you
Cat
Hi Cat, sorry to hear that you are having side affects with Osimertinib, I've been on Osimertinib for nearly 6 months and suffer very slightly with side affects. I get fatigue sometimes but normally OK after a few days, my main problem is sore middle finger which I have antibiotics. I just listen to my body. I'm 69 and still play football and exercise when I can as its help with my wellbeing, I try and think positive but sometimes it's hard. Cat if you can try light exercise and stretching. Your body will get used to Osimertinib. If you can don't sit around waiting for the side affects try and enjoy your life and get your mined in positive mode and you will get through this. Take care Rob
