Hi all

Just a little update.  I'm now 7 weeks post surgery for an upper lobe lobectomy on my right lung.

Having spoken with my surgeon last week I need no more treatment. I just wanted to share this with you as there are happier endings. I have an appointment in January next year for another scan. They will do these for five years.

Hopefully I'll keep on this track and I'm hoping others will be on it with me.

Thanks for reading

Xx

    Hi Olli

i hope you don’t mind me asking how big was the tumor removed

Was the surgery done by keyhole?

I am very anxious I have surgery next Thursday I had no symptoms just been treated for post nasal drip as I had COVID last year. I was sent for a chest X-ray where they picked up this spot on my left lung.

I am hoping as it was picked up early it will be ok

I am so happy for you

Hi Tina my tumour was 2cm. First stage sarcoma done by key hole surgery.  To be honest I didn't know what to expect but it wasn't as bad as I imagined. Take one day at a time. I'm around 9 weeks post op now maybe ten and would hardly know I've had surgery.  My breathing is much improved. Good luck and stay positive xx

I have adenocarcinoma would this be the same as yours

  • Hi Tina

Sorry to hear how you are feeling about the operation but think positive thoughts that it won't be long before hopefully it is all taken away and you will soon be on the mend. I think that the word operation always puts the fear of god into you but you will be OK, just try and stay positive and remember we are all here for you and will be thinking about you. Love Jean x

Thank you I have always been a very anxious person I keep telling myself to keep positive.

it was such a shock as I had no symptoms

    thank you Jean x

  • Hi Tina

I was diagnosed in March this year and I had no symptoms except I thought my asthma was playing up a bit. They sent me for an xray and from there within 10 days I was informed that I combined cancer of the right lung which is NSCLC and SCLC. An operation was out of the question as it does not stop the SCLC from spreading as it was already in the blood, I had 20 days of the highest radiation you can get which wasn't bad. I still don't really feel unwell I just get a bit tired in the afternoon.

Listen to your body and rest when needed and try your hardest to relax I know it's easier said, but you will be OK and I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

    Love Jean x
