Hi, I had a key hole surgery to remove a tumor on top of right lung which went ok, though part of it was left behind, after the surgery I was left still in a bit of pain due to the tumour causing pressure on the shoulder nerve's I am on pain killers which have been working, I am due to start chemo/ radiotherapy in a few days time, the question is, how long after starting treatment will the pain start to go away?
Hi Lezel, I haven't had chemotherapy myself, but I have had radiotherapy. My tumour was blocking my bronchial airway, and within days of having radiotherapy my breathing had improved due to the tumour shrinking. Everyone is different though, for instance my cancer is a sarcoma so may react differently to other cancers.
I can understand how frustrating this pain must be for you, and I hope the tumour shrinks quickly for you to ease this pain x
Hi Chelle, thanks for your reply, I too had/have the sarcoma and will be having radiotherapy as well as the chemo, its encouraging to hear the radiotherapy helped you and hope it continues for you. I have heard the treatment affects people different but you have given me positive hope. Thanks.x
