I have been diagnosed with lung cancer I am finding it hard to believe as I don’t feel ill at all just very tired and had an itching rash which has now gone still having tests so don’t know what will happen feeling confused
Hi Leeb.
Sorry you find yourself here but you will find people here are a friendly bunch, I couldn’t have got through those initial days, weeks, months without them. Do you have a lung cancer nurse specialist yet as they should be able to take you through what the next steps are for you.
Tracey
Confusion is normal as information often comes to you in dribs and drabs as test results come in.
A good thing to do while you're waiting for those results is to write down a list of questions to ask your consultant. It's very easy to forget things when you're trying to process whatever new information you're being given at an appointment.
When is your next appointment? Do you know if your case has been presented to an MDT yet?
Hi Leeb, and welcome to the club that no one wants to join. The early days really are scary and confusing. You say you are having more tests, do you know what they are? This truly is a rollercoaster ride that you are on, but trust me it will get easier. You will be in very good hands with your medical team, and if you haven’t already, you will be assigned a lung nurse. These nurses are there to help and support you, and you can phone them at any time and leave a message, and they will get back to you. Once your team have given you a plan of action, you will feel a lot better about things, at the moment it sounds like you do not know what that will be. There are many treatments available, and many of us on this group are having different treatments to each other, so there’s always someone here that will be able to help you with any advice, once you know what that treatment will be. Also if you click on our names, it will take you to our profile, where you can read about our own personal journey, and hopefully that will give you some encouragement. Many of us here have been around this group for several years, me included.
Good luck with your tests, and please do let us know how you are getting on.
Thank you and yes I will let you know when I know

MDT means Multidisciplinary Team Meeting Where a team of professionals from one or more clinical teams together make decisions regarding treatment of each patient. Is it your consultant you are seeing on the 27th? If it is there is a chance they will have a MDT prior to your appointment, so will have a plan in place for your treatment.
Thank you so much for the information I’m totally lost at moment it has helped thank you so much

Welcome to us
It's like learning a whole new bewildering language when you first start here? I remember it so well. We will all help you along the way so please keep asking for clarity on the parts you don't understand.
Hoping they come through with a good plan for you.
I too have just been diagnosed with untreatable lung cancer. Like you I have no symptoms, except those from my emphysema. The cancer was found almost by accident. I have no idea what to expect in the future. I wish you and me good luck.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
