I have been having Immunotherapy only since January
.I'm having recurring diarrhoea, taking Loperamide however feeling awful. Otherwise tolerating treatment ok.
Any help as to diet etc would be very gratefully received.
Hi Jacbtee
Welcome to us.
Sorry you are having this side effect and I know it isn't fun. I am on immunotherapy but I have the opposite problem to you, so I won't be much help for you I am afraid. Hopefully someone else will come along and help.
There is an ask a nurse section on the site where you could post this and they should be able to offer good advise. Scrub that, just went to send you the link and they have closed that temporarily.
You could call the line on Macmillan between 8am - 8pm freephone 0808 808 00 00 and they can hopefully put you through to someone that can give you advise.
Failing that, have you let your team know and that the Loperamide isn't helping? I am sure there must be other medications you could try out to see if they help?
Fully understand how you feel, not being in your usual 'routine' is not fun and can make it a bit miserable.
Nice to hear from you.
Hi Gina,
Thanks for your response. I'll certainly try what you suggested. I'm a bit independent and try to manage things myself as lots of people experiencing worse than me. Acknowledge this is not always possibl
Other than this problem I manage well with the Immunotherapy and it appears to be working well.
Thanks again take care x
